PASSAGE

March 5, 2008 to April 13, 2008

Art Gallery of Peel, Brampton

This exhibition is a collection of Anna's paintings that investigate the subject of light and our ability to solicit a change through the power of awareness. A catalogue is available.

PASSAGES

October 4, 2007 to October 25, 2007

Ingram Gallery, Toronto

This show is a continuance of Anna's exploration of the space as a metaphor for consciousness. "Passages" are series of interior views that engage the viewer in an act of contemplative observation of self and of a present moment.

SILENCE

March 2, 2006 to March 23, 2006

Ingram Gallery, Toronto

This exhibition has marked a major shift of Anna's attention from an object in space to the space itself. In the presence of an object, space usually plays the secondary role of a background. Our mind lingers on objects trying to find their meaning in relation to the environment. In these new works, Anna explores the subtle and elusive quality of an empty space.

GOOD BOY BAD BOY

March 2, 2005 to April 17, 2005

Galerie Verticale, Laval

Who are the good guys, and who are the bad guys? Reflecting on the absurdity of the toy soldier and what it represents, Anna Yuschuk reduces such heroic fantasies to wry comments on hostility and violence - immobile figures acting out our whims of power and control.

GOOD BOY BAD BOY

October 3, 2002 to October 19, 2002

Ingram Gallery, Toronto

WAITING ROOM

2002

Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, University of Toronto

"The uncertainties of our visual world are the subject of Anna Yuschuk's work as she explores how our suspicions of reality affect our sense of personal identity. Primarily depicting the female form, Yuschuk uses the body as her medium of investigative reality." C. Butler

ANIMA

2001

Loop Gallery, Toronto

The Anima and Animus are in Carl Jung's school of analytical psychology, the unconscious or true inner self of an individual, as opposed to the persona, or outer aspect of the personality. This show explores Anima (feminine) part of self as a female body viewed from an outside perspective.
